R.I.P Shoya Tomizawa passes away, The Japanese rider tragically passed away today, Sunday 5th September, after being injured in a crash during the Moto2 race at Misano. Honda pays tribute to Tomizawa Sunday, 05, September 2010 Honda Motor Co. Ltd and Honda Racing Corporation would like to express their great sadness at the passing away of Shoya Tomizawa following an accident in today’s San Marino Grand Prix.

British and ride a suzuki bandit 1200 in Spain. He's been biking for about 20 years, and had many bikes. Mainly sports and enjoy bike racing (moto gp etc) He used to do quite a few track days in the uk at cadwell park on his R6. He dont race about on the roads, as you can appreciate this is a recipe for disaster.

24/8 News.
Hi all! just back home in spain after 3 weeks in old sweden working on my house and visiting my old Harley Davidson Club Sweden's big event outside stockholm. As usual, all in rain. Took the bike on a trailer all the 2 X 3600 Km but didn't use it at all. The two days of steady sunshine these weeks up there I had to do paint works on the houses.
Anyway, now back home in the sunshine again with an overloaded van and trailer, the swedish house is on the market and life is good man!

5/7 News.
Heat is on, summer and a crowded beach. The roadwork's Mijas costa - Alhaurin is now over half way done. Its going to be fantastic for all bikers down here who's been waiting years now to get fast up to Coin etc.
A lot is going on, meetings and rides. I personally have been busy with visitors, midsummer party etc and not spent much time on the bike. And will be, the list of visitors is a never ending story summertime and that's great, Its to hot to ride anyway. And who doesn't like to meet old friends!

Just whish more members would/could send info and picts for publish here...

Hi all. Lots of meetings and rides all over Spain. As you know Its all on Facebook if you want the latest info.
In MotoGP Spain rules with victories in all 3 races. In 125 all 3 podiums was spanish again. I'm most impressed by the "Rookie" Ben Spies who made some incredible results his first year and especially the last races including a podium. Guys like Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, Pedrosa etc, is practically born on these tracks and has been competing each other in at least 10-15 years from Spanish junior racing and up to MotoGP.
Ben who's a champ in super has to adapt a complete different way of turning the bike and that usually takes years for others, he's just doing it! respect!

Haven't got much time lately and almost of the biker bars are closed daytime I don't get much info what's going on.

Custom Bike Show 2010 - Festival! Sun! Success!
Never before has there been so many exhibitors, never before has there been such a high class of the motorcycles in the show. Creativity and quality in conjunction with any Finish retrodesign of high quality was the hallmark of this year's Custom Bike Show. A top weather also helped to attract more than 12,000 visitors to Norrtälje. A show that had all the best.

Today's big winner was Minna Heikkinen from Bro, Stockholm, her red chopper took voters and jury by storm. First she won the class of HD Choppers, the class with most participants. Then she also won the Jurys Grand Price and Minna will therefore be the ones to represent Scandinavia at the World Championships of Custom Bike building in Sturgis, USA, in august later this year. Minna is historic as the first woman ever to participate in the World Championship.

14/3 New seat cover... Haze Blog

Sometimes you have to give up and just make something happen. I can't tell you how many, in a polite way, asked me if it's not time to repair the seat cover as in their eyes it looks a bit ripped up compared to their well polished bikes. I don't see It the same way, if it does not make the bike faster, better or stronger, I don't give a shit how it looks. So that's not the reason.
Its the other stuff called rain who made me do this. Normally we don't have that crap here in spain, but this year it has moved in to stay as far as I can see. And as we have moved some kilometers away from the garage, the bike now often are parked outside the office, so either I have to fix the seat, or start using diapers for my wet ass.
However, This is a minor work, takes an hour or two to get the material, and do the work.
Total cost: 14 Euros as we added extra foam. Pictures here!!!

26/3 Was invited, as a long time member of HDC Sweden, to HDC Malaga's clubhouse in Fuengirola port where we discussed the Spanish and European Federations. It was a gr8 evening with gr8 people even if we had some language barriers as my Spanish sucks!! I'm really ashamed, not to be able to speak after all this years in this hood. 16/9 Jack has closed his forum "Closed due to lack of interest".
They are also busy moving from the cost up to Costa Blanca and we will probably hear from them again soon. We wish them luck in their new home.

Summer is ending with a better climate (under 30) for riding a bike.
Last night the real heat was gone for the first time in months, had to use a T-shirt eating late dinner on the balcony. And the first 30 minutes of rain fell down in Fuengirola.
Was in Portugal, Setubal this weekend and It was a lot of bikers there 2, hanging around in the town center. Race bikes off course close to Mc Donalds, but also a big custombike gang outside a local bar.

17/8 Orange County Choppers presents a new Electrical bike.

The new chopper is called "Siemens Smart Chopper" and build for the german company Siemens who will use it for advertising and events. The bike is an almost silent version and was build in about a month by the Teutul family and their co-workers.
The "el-engine" deliver 28 HP and you can ride in 160km/h about 100 km on one battery charge.
The bike is also build with recycled materials and that made the challenge even more exiting explain Paul Teutul to the press.

Its not a joke. In Spain the government have approved a plan called Moto E witch will help bikers to buy a new bike. A total of nine million euros is available until june 2010. That means the government will provide between 75 to 250 euros per person, and if you are lucky, the manufacturer and the local government will add up with extra money and the amount could be up to 750 euros for a high cylinder bike. The bike must cost less than 9.500€. How it works? don't know, ask your bike dealer..

This is a follow up from the 2000E plan for cars who have boost the sales a lot.

Summer again. Sometimes to hot to drive. We took a trip north east of Alora on the roads to Antequera yesterday and I can say it was really hot. Had to take the jackets of to survive the heat and still it was like driving in a sauna. The engine heat almost burned my shoes, whish I had a oil temp meter to check these times.

Did miss the Faro meeting, and some swedish bikers, whose been riding from the north of sweden to visit a harley meeting i Barcelona last weekend was a bit surprised when the meeting was cancelled and the long 4000 km ride was for nothing.
Anyway, they found the way down to Bikers Heaven where they will stay a couple of days testing the pool and the local beer.

22/6 Closer to EU standard with new Spanish MC A1, A2 and A licences

A new licence for bikes up to 500cc, the A2 licence, has been approved by the Spanish Government.
The A2 licence will only be available to drivers over 18 years old.
The new licence A2 is will fill a space in between the A1 licence (for bikes up to 125cc) and the full A licence (bikes over 500cc).
To get the licence the applicant have to take one theoretical and one practical test.
If the applicant already have an A1 (AM) licence, they can get the A2 just by taking an aptitude and behaviour test. Read the full article here!

Today is midsummer day in Sweden so I guess most of our swedish members has taken the day off to eat raw fish, meatballs etc. and drink a lot of snaps and beer. So will I do as well, later today.
Might see you on the roads this weekend as I missed the last ones because of the Race on TV.

Hope some of the biker bars soon will invest 40 € in a spanish digital box so they can show the race 10.00-15.00 in the bar. Perfect to go there for a lunch break and check the Moto GP race... or F1, or Discovery with US Chopper builders, or Super moto, or Cross, or Chip Foose, or.....
I have seen that Costa Rider Bar have it, but they also have live rock in the same room so Its kind of hard to hear the TV...

Have finally spent some time and fixed the old forum so it works to post in and read again. Not much time on the bike this weekend as it was great racing on TV and then walking distance to the biker bar for a few pints of real beer. Usually have to drink 0,0 as the bike always is with me.

Did you ever wonder what happened on OCC when Vinnie suddenly disappeared? Well, he got fed up on working long days in a screaming environment so he just packed up his stuff one day and left. A shock for the family and extra heavy for Petco and Mike who had Vinnie as a mentor and best friend.

12/6 Control of the bike...

Just seen a movie confirming my very own opinion about keeping the sticks in the middle of the bike and not in Hi-way position as the only option. Its the "new" stock bike style I don't really understand, my bikes have always had sticks where they should be, if you need to stand up or whatever, to have full control. Some of my bikes had hi-way pegs mounted, as an option, even if I prefer to use the passenger pegs on faster roads.
Anyway, these guys knows bikes, Its Jesse James and H.A. Frisco explaining the "old style" of riding a bike, when chrome and paint had a secondary function.. Check it out.. and then run to the toolbox..

Ok, I've got more and more emails from members who wants to meet other members and check out who they can ride with, sports bikes and customs. Some is really trying and post questions in the forums but the response seems a bit low. (the 2 new forums)

Please support them and answer so they know it is worth trying. Bladeboy are looking for race bike friends in the Costa Blanca area and will go on trackday racing in Valencia, and Pink have weekly custom ride connections for all interested.
BigBiker suggested a meeting at The Road House last weekend, I do not know if any of you where there as I missed the info and also was working that day.

So I suggest that we meet a Saturday or Sunday at The Roadhouse at lunch/14.00 so anyone have time to get there, and also time to get back home. A few hours checking out each other, plan routes and rides, and changing phone numbers etc.
Any one interested in this please email haze and let him know what days are ok 4 u to do this.

Yesterday was opening day at Coast Riders Bar in Torreblanca, party from 11.00 to 24.00 with live music, male strippers and and more. Beer for 50 cent did not hurt much either so I tested a few as It was waking distance home. A great location with easy parking, spanish owners and a lot of bikes. No food what I could see except for a paella served in the morning.

We are today 71 members, and we welcome 69 Rocky, 70 bikersinspain and 71 David Pusey.
Had a very long day trying to pay the tax for two of my scooters. Its just 6.40€/year each, but impossible to pay. Was at 2 banks in Fuengirola yesterday, not working. Not possible in Fuengirola. Had to go to Coin today to ayuntamientot, as this was the best option for me, compared to Malaga city or Marbella with hours of waiting. Nop, go to the bank and pay, was the answer in that office. I told them it does not work. Sure It works here in Coin, the lady said. So I went to the bank in Coin, and another, no no. So here I am, still with my taxes unpaid. Have a plan, thouht, there is in some banks machines you can use to pay bills with, they cant say no, so I will try that tomorrow.. ciao haze

16/5 Road House Bar is now open!



The former Stockholm Bar has today re-open with new owners. Larry forgot to pay his bills and are now kicked out. Twink, Sue and Charlie will run this biker bar from now on. The name is Road House Bar and they will serve good fresh homemade food for hungry bikers. Today it was a quiet opening without advertising but still a lot of bikes. Later today it will probably be full of people. We wish them good luck and we in the area have our weekend meeting point back. Here It's open from 10.00 all days so be there weekends 10-11 if you want someone to ride with.

Hopefully the weather will be better soon so we can start pre-booked weekend rides again. 320 days of sunshine seems to be gone with the global cooling.

Yamaha R1 has a Yamaha M1-like big bang firing order.
The first time a big bang engine has been used on a production bike, Yamaha is calling it
"Cross plane Technology". It puts each connecting rod 90º from the next, meaning the cylinders
fire at 270°- 180°- 90°- 180°. This spreads out the power pulses to the rear tire, allowing it to regain
traction in between each pulse. The result is more usable traction under large throttle openings,
meaning riders will be able to accelerate out of corner earlier and harder.

Outlet sales!
The shop Motos Garrido in Alhaurin de la Torre have big outlet sales all February in the "factory". (map). Clothing, helmets, gloves, you name it, they have it. I just bough a pair of teflon jeans.

News from Stockholm Biker Bar Montero.
News from the bar is that from now on the weekends shall have full activity for the visiting bikers. The bar is no longer connected with one biker club and are now open for all clubs and all kind of bikers. So it all starts with friday afternoons and evenings with Quiz and Karaoke with Dave.

49-70cc in a couple of hours!
There is always a first time!
Things I did with my mopeds and 150cc bikes , 13-14 years old, are not so interesting for today's young kids with all game consoles, electric guitars, skateboards, clubs, bares, etc. So for my youngest son it took a bit longer to get things done in the garage. But one day he started to complain about a low speed of 60-70 and a lot slower up hills with a girlfriend on the back, so I've told him it was time to start fixing the shit himself.

Bad weather!
Had a lot on my list last week, taking pictures for a bike magazine and for some new articles here, but the weather has been really ba, so my bike is still in the garage. Also passed a huge crash in Mijas feria area just a few minutes after it happened. A big scooter had in high speed run strait into the front of a Ford Transit Van. The van was V formed and a meter shorter and the scooter was no more... and the guy was under a blanket. Shit happens if you are trying to hard, so use your brain in the traffic.

Jesse James did it again!
His new Airstream bike is build for the company with the same name. Jesse who has been a long time Airstream fan wanted an Airstream trailer for his wife Sandra Bullock so he made a phone call to the top executive of Airstream with the idea of building a sidecar chopper for them in change of an trailer.
A deal no smart director can refuse so Jesse and Sandra both spend time tooling around in the garage and this is the result.

The bike was released at the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance or: Here!

The last time Jesse James went to the Concours, he wowed them with his Radial Hell aero bike that is powered by a 7-cylinder Rotec radial aircraft engine.

The swedish owned Bikers Heaven on Finca la Ermita has now opened the first part of their business. They are located in El Chorro natural park area, close to the Garganta natural park.

Yea we are still kicking. Just got lack of time to make updates. Much work, sunshine and many roads to ride. Hi all! 2008!!
Hope you all had a great holiday! The sunshine is back here on Costa del sol and we have spend some hours on the bike around mijas-ojen-alhaurin. A lot of bikers have done the same and the restaurants up there are full of people dressed in leather.

How I imported a Harley-Davidson to Spain in 2008.

This is a brief account of what I did to import a 2007 Harley-Davidson FLHR Road King to Spain from the UK. I had owned the bike from new in the UK where I had had a Stage 1 conversion and Vance and Hines pipes fitted.

The most important decision was to use an experienced agent based in Malaga to manage the process for me.  She is English but a fluent Spanish speaker.  Without this I would have had difficulty with some of the steps.

What is what and who can you trust?

I was thinking about the famous brand Harley Davidson, 105 years old 2008.
New models 2009 are now available, and second hand ones still cost a fortune, even old ones. You buy them stock, but not many owners stays happy with the basic specifications and starts adding new parts soon as they can afford it.

Today you can start building a bike from scratch, instead of buying base models in the shop, around an engine with a bit more power then the original Harley engine can offer.
You have a huge aftermarket with harley-like engines/parts to choose from, some connected with HD, and some not.

Great weather today!!
Will be on the road after 14.00. Have to stay in the garage a few hours to support my sons first upgrade of his scooter engine, from 49 to 70cc.
Anyway if you are a technichal freek and want to learn a little more about your bike and how to set it up, there are a goldmine out there on the web. One example is the University of Padova in Italy:s website for engineering students. About Motocycles Dynamics. If you ever have wonder why the MotoGP guys have so much problems to set up the bikes for a race, you can get some answers here.

Swedish owned bar between Fuengirola's El faro and La Cala on the parallel service road. Used to be a chinese restaurant. Now biker bar and also club house for Big Phill and his Malaga Road Demons. This is the new place for all you who used to visit former Joe's Bar in La Cala.

Honda Varadero made in Spain.
Honda has decided that the XL1000 Varadero will be build in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda factory in Spain.

KTM sets new records in sale.
KTM has under year 2006-2007 sold for 566,1 million euros witch is a record in the company history. Its 14% better than the year before. Over 90,000 KTM bikes is sold. KTM info.

Sales in Spain 2007.
Not bad. A total of 239,071 bikes has been sold so far this year in Spain. The most popular one is Honda 125 Scoopy with 763 sold units. In 49cc, Yamaha Jog RR is in top with 10,677 sold bikes.

I was in a meeting last week and we end up in the parking lot afterwards.
Three English gentlemen and I. The sun was shining, they went for their cars when they suddenly saw my bike.
- Whow! I wish I had one of these so I could drive by all traffic, one of them said.
- Me to. But I don't have a driving licence for bikes. Only for cars.
- Same here, said the others.
I was really stunned for a while.
